Claire and Michael – Portifino Royalty Wedding

First of all, let me tell you love the Portifino hotel but more, i LOVE this couple.  Surrounded by friends and family in this beautiful Coptic church, Claire and Michael became royalty with an ornate crown and robing ceremony. But probably my favorite tradition of culture was when the bride is walked to the church by her father, and met by her groom. They walk down the aisle representing  their journey to marriage, together.  What a beautiful culture.

The Coptic language ceremony has not significantly changed over the past 2000 years. Since the church is very symbolic, the wedding will also be very symbolic. Volumes could be written on the symbolism of the Coptic church which you will experience, e.g. icons of angels and saints, candles, holy oil, incense, etc. The ceremony views the couple as almost literally a “match made in heaven”. Needless to say that a Coptic marriage is final, never dissolvable except in very extreme cases. In brief, it’s a ceremony to show that the young couple are receiving blessings from the family, Church and the Heavens.

Following the ceremony, we met back at the Portofino Bay hotel for their beautiful portraits and a super fun and exciting reception! Al Dee had the whole dancefloor packed ALL night.  Not a single soul was sitting in their chairs. Claire’s wedding day style was beautiful and elegant. She added a beautiful lace top to her Enzoani mermaid gown, that she removed for the reception. She kept everything else very simple – with gorgeous diamond accents. Michael wore a classic black tux with black bowtie.

The Portifino hotel is the perfect location for your disney traveling guests and an AMAZING wedding venue. Don’t forget to look at the gorgeous cake made by the Pastry Chefs. From beginning to end, the Portifino will spoil you and your guests

I’m so excited to share their wedding day, and if you want to see more, check out their beautiful feature on Style Unveiled!
